Novalogic announces BHD: Sabre Teams

Yesterday Novalogic announced the release of an expansion for the latest sequel to the Delta Force series, Black Hawk Down.
The campaigns are set up around the Columbian jungle and Iran which should guarantee for a good variety of terrain types, especially concerning the multiplayer mode.

One of the announced features that has not been seen throughout the DF-series yet is the ability to not only ride but also drive different types of vehicles such as helicopters, zodiacs and FAVs.
Let's hope Novalogic will release at least a small-scale technical demo and not let us buy a pig in a poke. ;)

The Birds are soaring again...

*BOP* goes BHD

It has been some days now since DF:Black Hawk Down was released and some of us take the chance to have a closer look at Novalogic's latest sequel to the DF-series.

Although we're not too happy about the fact that the majority of maps is set in urban territory surrounded by flat terrain I'm currently quite confident that we'll give DF:BHD a try.

So don't be too surprised if you stumble across some guys with familiar callsigns and tags on your next BHD session. :)

Today Novalogic released yet another demo of their upcoming sequel to the DF-Series, Black Hawk Down.

The demo's filesize is about 132MB and it combines the latest MP-Beta and the official SP-Demo. But as you might have noticed from the screenshots Novalogic has also added a new map to the demo featuring various types of vegetation and different terrain elements such as hills and water.

But especially features like the grass or lots of bump-mapping on the ground textures come at high costs. Although the performance was quite good on the sp-mission, not as good as in the demo before though I think (might be my current Detonators as well), I had massive trouble running the mp-map using the same settings.

A nice little feature especially usefull if you are sniping is a display in the top left corner showing your current ping to the server. Well, as far as I noticed the sp-mission hasn't changed that much except for some more civilians running through the streets so you have to double-check targets before thinking about pulling the trigger.

According to Novalogic the US-release of DF: Black Hawk Down is now officially scheduled for March, 25th.

New BHD-Demo released

Following the MP-Beta2 which was released around Christmas Novalogic now released the first official BHD-SP-Demo.
Concerning the first beta the engine has definetly improved a lot and now looks really promising. Apparently Novalogic managed to tweak the engine since I had no problems running the demo on an Athlon 1.2 and a GF3 at 1024 at acceptable framerates. Aside from the almost usual KI-Bugs the gameplay is very intense and packed with action. Personally I'm really looking forward to the release of BHD because of both the latest MP- and the SP-Demo.

Novalogic recently announced another sequel to the Delta Force-Series: Black Hawk Down. Dealing with the well known scenario of Operation Restore Hope settled in Somalia in 1993 DF - Black Hawk Down will use yet another updated version of Novalogic's Landwarrior-engine.
Given the released screenshots we might even get some of the ground vegetation back many of us have been missing since DF2. Additionally players will, for the first time in the DF-series, be able to control a limited of number of vehicles. DF - Black Hawk Down is scheduled for the end of 2002 and will be released later on for Xbox and PS2, too.
